“The light of the future MCBW moments 2013: * TRACK MEETS IXXI by Ben Wirth with the” for the light bulb lighting and lighting design faces the biggest upheaval since the invention of this bulb by Sir Thomas Edison in the 19th century. That LED, followed by recent developments such as the OLED, will probably shape the future of light. The specific LED and subsequently the surface radiant OLED (organic light emitting diode) today completely new possibilities in lighting design. How to design today with the high cost? How the alternative to light and design in the future, as we know it? The architect and lighting designer Ben Wirth early realized the potential that lies in the new technology. Ben Wirth always represents an approach which is characterized by the creative processes in the architecture: I interpret the space through light, emphasize the special properties of the room.
The lamps and installations should be an eye-catcher, but at the same time into the space are assimilating, as were they specially designed for him.” The desire for aesthetics, efficiency in the energy as in the quality of the sector and the well-being of the people in the individual space inspired Ben Wirth at the continuous development of its light and modular lighting systems such as cluster + and * track. * Track and * modular LED lighting systems for ceiling or wall are Track Wall. The system consists of two levels, conducting carrier structure and the LED light source. The power distribution system is a 1.5 mm flat structure made of silver-white board material. It consists of different long sleek connectors and octagonal nodes (Oktogonen). Thanks to a flexible plug-in system, the structure can be customized.
The light source is a small two-piece ball (o 28 mm), consisting of an LED (with light focus lens and translucent plastic cover) and a heat sink in colourless anodised aluminium. For the MCBW 2013 (Munich creative business week), Ben Wirth has moments in the old Congress Hall at the exhibition the MCBW for the first time * track ixxi combined with the modular wall system was the ixxi by Dutch designers of the eponymous company designed of high quality synthetic plastic panels (www.ixxidesign.com).
